AP Chinese Training Course

The AP Chinese Language and Culture course at ZDCLA is designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement (AP) examination while fostering advanced proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and a deep understanding of Chinese culture. Aligned with the College Board framework, the course develops students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through authentic and meaningful communication.

Students engage with a wide range of materials, including contemporary texts, classical references, and multimedia resources, to explore key cultural themes such as family and society, beauty and aesthetics, science and technology, and global challenges. Emphasis is placed on interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication, enabling students to express ideas with clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.

In keeping with ZDCLA’s interdisciplinary approach, the course integrates language learning with cultural studies, including elements of history, literature, and traditional arts. Interactive discussions, project-based learning, and real-world applications help students build both linguistic competence and cultural literacy.

By the end of the course, students will be well-prepared for the AP Chinese exam and equipped with the skills to engage confidently in academic and cross-cultural contexts.
